Who we are

Special education tutoring delivered with care and consistency

Enhanced Learning is the trading name of Enhanced Tutoring Services Ltd, a tutoring service built specifically around children and young people who find standard classroom teaching difficult to access. We work with learners who have identified special educational needs, and with those who are still being assessed, and we design every session around the individual rather than around a fixed curriculum sequence.

Our tutors hold qualifications and experience in special education, and they understand that progress is rarely linear. A learner may make rapid gains in one term and need to consolidate in the next, and our planning reflects that reality. We use structured, multi-sensory approaches, we break tasks into small and manageable steps, and we build in regular opportunities for the learner to experience success.

We work closely with parents and carers, because the people who know a child best are usually the people who live with them. We ask questions about what happens at home, about what triggers frustration and about what helps a learner to settle. Where families wish it, and with their written consent, we also communicate with schools and other professionals so that the support a learner receives is joined up rather than fragmented.

All sessions take place online or in an agreed setting, at times arranged with the family. We keep written records of each session, noting what was covered and what should come next, and we share those records with parents and carers on request. This means that nothing is lost between sessions and that any other professional involved can see the direction of travel.

We are a small service by design. Taking on a limited number of learners at any one time allows us to give each family proper attention, to prepare sessions thoroughly and to respond promptly when circumstances change. If we do not believe we are the right service for a learner, we will say so and, where we can, suggest an alternative.
